Test Report Example

The following test data are obtained from testing commercially available lithium-ion cells.

1. Normalized cycle life

Example of normalized cycle life based on testing condition: charge at 6A to 4.2V until 100mA, discharge at 10A to 2.5V (capacity check every 100 cycle: charge at 0.5C to 4.2V until 0.05C, discharge at 0.2C to 2.5V).

 

2. Non-normalized cycle life

Example of non-normalized cycle life in the same test as above.

3. Voltage and current curve

Example of voltage and current curve based on testing condition: charge at 0.333C to 4.2V until 0.05C, discharge at 0.333C to 2.5V.

4. Coulombic efficiency

Example of coulombic efficiency (CE) based on testing condition: charge at 6A to 4.2V until 100mA, discharge at 20A to 2.5V (capacity check every 100 cycle: charge at 0.5C to 4.2V until 0.05C, discharge at 0.2C to 2.5V).

5. Impedance curves

Example of DCIR_10s at 100% SOC curve based on testing condition: charge at 6A to 4.2V until 100mA, discharge at 10A to 2.5V (capacity check every 100 cycle: charge at 0.5C to 4.2V until 0.05C, discharge at 0.2C to 2.5V).

6. HPPC

Example of voltage and current curve, and DCIR vs. DOD curve based on testing condition: 2.5C pulse at every 5% SOC.

7. Temperature profile during test

Example of temperature profile based on testing condition: charge at 6A to 4.2V until 100mA, discharge at 10A to 2.5V (capacity check every 100 cycle: charge at 0.5C to 4.2V until 0.05C, discharge at 0.2C to 2.5V). 

8. Temperature control

Example of cycle life based on various temperatures during testing (cells were tested in temperature-controlled chambers).

9. Rate capability

Example of Constant Current (CC) stage time during charging, and % Capacity charged in certain time based on testing condition: charge at 6A to 4.2V until 100mA, discharge at 10A to 2.5V (capacity check every 100 cycle: charge at 0.5C to 4.2V until 0.05C, discharge at 0.2C to 2.5V).
